A lover of Scholarship with integrity
Unique Research
Dr Chris Watson is not only renowned for his scholarship in english literature and languages, he has the unique propensity to challenge himself to explore unique areas of research. His doctoral thesis focused on the work of the poets John Donne and Andrew Marvell (awarded by the University of British Columbia ).
In 1990 he gained the qualification of Bachelor of Theology from the Melbourne College of Divinity, in which he specialised in themes from the Old Testament. So in in addition to his Latin and French, he picked up an understanding of Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek. As if that wasn’t enough, he has been studying Coptic and Gaelic as a hobby.
Since leaving the university bubble, he has been devoting a great deal of his energy to helping civil celebrants do better ceremonies. He is now, and has been for some years, Dean of Studies with the International College of Celebrancy, bringing a polite but enforced standard of education and training to this role.
